(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Suspicious vehicle leads to arrest of an impaired driver.
On June 8, 2024, at 1:02 a.m., members of the Oneida Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were travelling on Ballpark Road in Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation and observed a suspicious vehicle at the Oneida Community Centre.
A traffic stop was initiated.
It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. A Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST) was utilized at roadside. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.
As a result, Dennison DOXTATER, a 19-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
· Operation while impaired – alcohol
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on August 13, 2024.
The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
