The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made multiple arrests including one suspect wanted in Quebec for charges related to a double homicide.
In late March 2024, the HRPS began investigating a suspect wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for homicide charges related to the shooting deaths of two teenage males in Montreal that took place in July 2022.
On March 29, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the area of Dundas Street West and Bronte Road in Oakville. At that time, five male suspects were taken into custody (including the male wanted by Montreal police).
At the residence, police also located stolen items and tools commonly used in the commission of auto thefts, including several reprogramming and relay devices, and seized a stolen BMW (see attached photos).
A 19-year-old male of Oakville was arrested by the HRPS on the strength of the Canada-wide warrant and was turned over to homicide investigators from Montreal police to face charges. The HRPS has not yet charged this suspect in relation to offences committed in Halton, and cannot publicly identify them due to their age at the time the homicide offences were committed.
Police cannot identify any of the other adults charged because it may lead to the identification of the associated youths charged.
